    Welcome to National Jewish Health

National Jewish Health is known worldwide for treatment of patients with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders, and for groundbreaking medical research. Founded in 1899 as a nonprofit hospital, National Jewish Health remains the only facility in the world dedicated exclusively to these disorders. For the past 15 consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked National Jewish Health the #1 respiratory hospital in the nation.

    Strategic Vision
In January 2007, our Board of Directors approved a strategic plan, which lays out a vision that will guide us as we grow and evolve during the next decade.

To remain a leader in the treatment of respiratory, cardiac and immune diseases, our focus is to:

Develop and provide innovative clinical programs for treating and rehabilitating patients of all ages and for preventing disease.
At National Jewish Health, we provide patient care that is thorough, multidisciplinary and tailored to the needs of each patient. Our staff takes the time to know our patients and really understand their conditions and concerns. Over a course of days or weeks, our doctors may spend hours with each patient, which is quite different from todays average 15 minute office visit.

Discover knowledge to enhance prevention, treatment and cures, through an integrated program of basic and clinical research.
Known for translating the lessons of basic science and applying them to human diseases, National Jewish Health attracts world-class researchers who conduct leading-edge scientific investigations. Clinical research is critical to understanding diseases and improving treatment methods. Over the years, clinically-based studies conducted at National Jewish Health have led to new and improved treatments for a number of respiratory, allergic and immune diseases.

Educate scientists, physicians, healthcare professionals, and the public.
We house three academic departments that offer and participate in various fellowship programs. We also offer Continuing Medical Education, which takes many forms to suit a broad range of professional needs and preferred learning styles. In addition to educating our peers in the medical field, we also strive to inform our patients and the general public through our Kunsberg School, patient education classes, and health publications.
